REPORT OF THE OBE TRAIN-THE-TRAINERS WORKSHOP HELD AT AFE BABALOLA UNIVERSITY, ADO-EKITI, EKITI STATE FROM 7TH -10TH FEBRUARY, 2022
1. Introduction
The 6th OBE Train-the-Trainers workshop was held from 7th -10th February, 2022, at the Engineering conference hall of Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti. About 60 participants from the following eight (8) universities attended the workshop: Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State; Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State; Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State; Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State; Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State, Osun State University, Osogbo, Osun State; Adeleke University, Ede, Ogun State; Redeemer’s University, Ede, Ogun State.

2. COREN TEAM

3. Registration of Participants:
The first day of the workshop commenced with the registration of participants according to their universities.
4. Courtesy Call on the Vice Chancellor of AfeBabalola University
The President of COREN, Engr. A. A. Rabiu, FNCE, FNICE, ably represented by the Deputy President of Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Engr. Mrs Margret Oguntala, FNSE, accompanied by COREN team, paid a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor of Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), Prof. Smaranda Olarinde.
The Vice Chancellor warmly received the COREN Team and greatly thanked the President of COREN for the recognition given toABUAD to host the COREN OBE Train-the-Trainers workshop. Both teams were properly introduced and the President’s representative, Engr. Mrs Margret Oguntala was invited for her presentation.
The Deputy President of NSE, Engr. Mrs Margret Oguntala, on behalf of the President of COREN, Engr. A. A Rabiu, FNSE, thanked the Vice Chancellor and the University Management for their kind gesture and the warm reception accorded to the COREN team. She said that the aim of the visit was to call on the University Administrators of ABUAD to join COREN in the sensitization programme on OBE and its implementation in the engineering programmes in Nigerian University.
She therefore presented the address of COREN President and thereafter, handed a copy to the Vice Chancellor.
In her, response, the Vice Chancellor thanked the President of COREN and his delegates for the courtesy call on her and for the laudable project embarked upon on OBE. She informed COREN that ABUAD is an institution that transforms impossibilities to possibilities, an institution where engineering professionals are trained to compete with other professionals globally. She assured that the ABUAD would give OBE implementation in engineering a priority.
She concluded by thanking everyone for attending the meeting. She urged COREN team to feel free to visit some of the facilities in ABUAD such as the Platinum, Industrial Farm, etc.
The courtesy call was concluded with a group photograph at the Vice Chancellor’s office and the COREN team proceeded to the engineering conference hall to continue with the paper presentations.

6. CLOSING
The OBE workshop ended on the 4th day, Thursday, 10th February, 2022, with a group photograph and a reception organized by the founder of Afe Babalola University, Aare Afe Babalola (SAN), for the COREN team and the participants at the ABUAD conference auditorium.
