Prof. Okorie Austine Uche, FNSE, FNICE, led a delegation of COREN Management on a courtesy visit to the Honourable Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Ata, and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Shuaibu M.L. Balgore, NPOM, OON. 7/8/2025

The visits were aimed at expressing COREN’s profound appreciation for their invaluable support towards the successful hosting of the 33rd COREN Engineering Assembly, held from 14th to 16th July, 2025. The COREN team also used the opportunity to solicit the continued partnership and support of the Ministry in achieving the Council’s mandate of promoting quality engineering practice and regulation in Nigeria.

The President of COREN, Engr. Prof. Sadiq Zubair Abubakar, FNSE, FAEng, led a high-level delegation on a courtesy visit to the Director General of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), Dr. Adebowale Adedoku, at the BPP Headquarters in Abuja. 6th August, 2025

The engagement focused on fostering deeper collaboration aimed at improving compliance, enhancing professional standards, and ensuring greater value delivery in public sector engineering projects.

Key discussions included the development of a joint framework to advance shared goals such as capacity building, project monitoring, policy advisory, and strict adherence to engineering procurement best practices.

Together, COREN and BPP are committed to building stronger institutions that uphold professionalism, transparency, and accountability in Nigeria’s engineering landscape.
