On 20th June 2025, the President of COREN, Engr. Prof. Sadiq Zubair Abubakar, FNSE, FAEng led a high-level technical delegation to the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) at its Lagos Office.

His Excellency Governor Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde FNSE, ably represented by the Deputy Governor Barr. Abdulraheem Bayo Lawal at the inauguration of the State Technical Committee and State Expatriate Monitoring Committee held at the Executive Chamber, Oyo State Government House.

President of COREN Engr. Prof. Sadiq Zubair Abubakar, FNSE, FAEng led a delegation on a working and interactive visit to the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Prof. Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu and his management team to strengthen collaboration on the ongoing joint accreditation process for engineering programmes in Nigerian universities. The visit reaffirms the commitment of both regulatory bodies to ensuring quality  and standards in  engineering education across the country.

COREN Lagos State Technical Committee, LSTC of the Engineering Regulation Monitoring, ERM&E on Friday, 7th March, 2025 Inspected the site of the Collapsed 3-Storey Building at Oriwu Street, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.

During the visit, four fatalities were reported, while six individuals were rescued alive—three of whom remain hospitalized. Search and rescue efforts continue for the five missing persons. LASBCA confirmed that the site had been sealed since October 2024. The identities of the client and supervising professionals are yet to be determined.  

As part of efforts to ensure proper supervision by COREN Registered Engineers, the Lagos State Technical Committee, LSTC of the Engineering Regulation Monitoring, ERM&E on Friday, 7th March, 2025, inspected various project sites in Lekki and Ikeja, Lagos State.
