COREN Lagos State Technical Committee Joins LASBCA Stakeholders’ Engagement (BSSE 3.0)

The Lagos State Technical Committee on Engineering Regulation Monitoring and Enforcement (ERM) of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) joined other stakeholders at the 3rd edition of the Building Sector Stakeholders’ Engagement (BSSE 3.0), organised by the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) on Wednesday, 13th August 2025, at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos Island.

The forum, themed “Incessant Building Collapse in Nigeria: The Need for Strict Adherence to Building Codes and Regulation,” was hosted in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development and the Lagos State Ministry of Housing.

It served as a platform to enlighten stakeholders on compliance with building standards, promote maintenance culture, and foster ethical practices to curb the frequent incidents of building collapse across the State and the country at large.

In attendance were government officials, regulatory agencies, professional bodies, and practitioners in the built environment. COREN’s participation through its Lagos State Technical Committee underscores the Council’s continued commitment to promoting quality engineering services, enforcing professional compliance, and supporting collaborative initiatives that ensure public safety and sustainable development in Nigeria’s construction industry.
